Mimose, Samantha’ s mother arrived on June 6th 2004 with Samantha. Mimose declared to us that she has 4 children 3 girls and a boy, from 9 years old through a year, with 2 different fathers. The father of the first two one died The father of the last two one abandonn her when she got pregnant with Samantha. She never saw him since then. She is now alone with 3 children to take care since her boy is with a family who is adopting him. She has no job, her parents are still alive but they cannot help her take care of the children. She used to sell things, like sugar, rice etc but she’ s afraid she won’t be able to take care of 3 children. She is desperate with 3 children to take care, she has no job, no food, her situation is very bad. Aware of our adoption program decide to give up Samantha for adoption.
Samantha was born at home in Camp Perrin, south (about 7 hrs by car) of Port-au-Prince at 11h pm. She was breast fed up to June 28th which was the day she arrived. She is a healthy baby girl, she is 20 lbs 9 and she is 79 cm tall. Se is on bebelac, she eats everything, she eats rice, corn, meat. She is an interesting baby, but she cries a lot when she is around strangers. She sleeps one time in the morning, one time in the afternoon and at night she doesn’t wake up . She pull herself to stand with some help, sit without help while playing with toys.
Her lab works are normal including the HIV and sickle cell and hepatitis B, her x ray result came out negative however she presents asthma symptoms.
She is a beautiful baby waiting for a family. She will bring lots of joy and happiness to her awaiting family.
