Couldn't help but share a little more Haiti with you

I was in Haiti over Christmas 2002 and recall when the entire country ran out of gas. That's right, I chose those words correctly. All gas stations were out, and we eventually were able to purchase a 50 gal canister of diesel through a friend who knew a friend, know what I mean, nudge, nudge....
