The things we do in life....

September 17 2004

Good morning my dear Laurie and Frank,

Got back from Port last night... was very tired and did not take long for me to crash. Got to talk with Madeleine about stuff this morning and she wanted me to read the emails you had sent. Wanna say thank you for talking to people about Cofhed and us in Haiti. Only God knows the doors He wants open and the ones He wants shut. But you guys are doing a great work, being driven and moved by love for God and, of course, love for people. I really feel excited about this kind of stuff.

The other day, I was talking with Madeleine and for some reason we began to trace back our connection with Lougou. We remembered that if it were not for your love and generosity, maybe we could have missed Lougou by 100 miles! We first went to Lougou to deliver a package from you to Laura.

It was at the same time we first met Samantha; she was maybe a month old or less. Little did we know that they were going to be someday your daughters. On our way out of Lougou, we were sourrounded by many people and they wanted us! They wanted us to come back to visit them again.

What was just a personal thing (delivering the package) was supposed to have a community impact in God's plan. Oh, His plan and wisdom are so marvelous, and nothing can be compared to it!

So all of this is to say thank you for being so sensitive and obedient to God's nudging and leading. Think of this, by your obedience, you guys were used for God to have an impact on the community of Lougou. Some people have gotten saved already by receiving the Lord Jesus-Christ, and we forsee more victories for the Lord in the future. So someday you're going to need to come down to Lougou and celebrate God's goodness with them.

One more thing, as far as getting back Abel, the architect from your church, we need to get a hold of the real estate people in Cayes to get the exact measurements for the property. Have not gotten the papers yet, believe it or not. We dropped in many times, we were told the papers were at the governemnt office for a final seal or something. But it's getting closer to the end. Madeleine and I exchanged some ideas already as to what would be needed in the mission compound, but we have not put things down in writing yet. So I will send an email to Abe to let him know where we're at.

Thank you guys for all that you do for us and Cofhed. Continue to be encouraged in the good work you do for the Lord.

Your brother Nick
