The storm has passed, but I want to share the most recent roller-coaster ride concerning the girls. A few weeks ago, we recevied this email from the orphanage through whom we our adopting our girls.

Dear Mr and Mrs Livingston,
Can you send a letter saying that you accept Laura with her positive sicle cell (anemia). You can just scan it.If you can send it as soon as possible, we will appreciate that.

You understand that it was about nine months ago when Laura received her physical and a clean bill of health when it came to Sickle Cell. Now we were bing told she had it. Aside from the sudden onset of anxiety over a sick daughter, we really had little idea of what Sickle Cell anemia was about. So we made some calls, and did some reseach. You may enjoy a brief education here....
Pediatrician friends of ours took a look at the original test results we had faxed to us from the orphanage and our friends concluded that even though the results may infact indicate Laura is a sickle cell carrier, she is not anemic at all, which occurs when one tests positive positive with the sickle cell disease. So, while we await a re-test, we feel fairly certain Laura will be ok. Sammi was retested recently and she tested negative all around, so we are happy there, too.
We try our best to leave the care of the girls in the care of our Lord and the Avignons family in Camp-Perrin. We have reason to believe the girls may be released from Social Services and day now; this means we may be able to pick them up some time in May.
In prayer,
Frank
