Today, September, 14th we received the second of the Certificates of Citizenship from the United States government. They are official. in true fashion when I showed and explained to Laura that she was now a U.S. citizen, she just went 'what's that?'. I tried to explain....only to get a 'huh?'.
We'll work on it, but truth be told, the real meaning will only come in time as she learns the advantages of being among the world's most privileged. It is an honor and responsibility we hope to instill in both Sami and Laura.
So, if you want to know how long it really took, we began this process back in October of 2003 or 23 months ago. About 2 years.
