Probably been at least a few years since I blogged and maybe five or so since I took it seriously. Since we got our girls and began settling down...things are going well.
Five years later - from when we first met our girls, in February of 2005 - Frank finds himself in Port au Prince working with one of Haiti's largest micro-finance organizations on behalf of Opportuntiy International (Frank's employer). As you know, Hsiti underwent a huge earthquake in January and erased large chunks of Port-au-prince where the epicenter was located. THis is the first time Frank has travelled to Port since the earthquake and as prepared as he felt he was, it is really breath-taking...in not so good a way.
The pictures that follow are some of the pictures I tried to take as I tried in vain to hold on to the image, as if that would help ease the burden I felt from the vast lost these brave people have suffered. it is probably not an exaggeration to say that the devestation is so pervasive that everyone who is local to Haiti was affected in some way. Probably many,
