Thursday Night II

There are a couple of housekeeping issues I should mention:

FLOWERS
A) Some of you have sent some precious get well gifts to Laurie, including flowers. She is SO touched by them. But we have a favor to ask. For those of you who want or are thinking of sending flowers to the hospital, please consider in lieu of flowers a small gift to http://www.cofhed.org instead. We must avoid flowers in Laurie's hospital room as they can introduce germs we desperately need to keep out. And at the same time, you can learn about the life-changing work our dear friends Nicaise and Madaleine Avignon are doing in Haiti.

VISITATION
B) A number of you have asked about visiting Laurie beginning next Wednesday, the day of surgery. The best thing I can suggest is that, while you are always welcome to visit Laurie, you should keep in mind:

On Wednesday Frank will be there all day and night and being the first day, I suspect Laurie will be heavily drugged, induced to sleep in oirder to rest following a surgery that she wa awake for. That's my guess, but I suspect I am right. You come MOnday you will probably only get me - be forewarned!

Surgery is expected to take 4 hours or so so it will be early afternoon before Laurie is even roled out of the ER. I probably will not see her for another couple hours.... Again, my guesses only. So, what I am saying is if you want to see Laurie in action, Wednesday is probably not a good day.

If you prefer to come and simply pray over Laurie, Monday might be a good choice.

Any day other than Wednesday, if you want to check on whether a specific time is ok, just SMS me (720-210-4355). You can send sn SMS from Skype to a cell phone if you do not have a cell phone yourself.

I will not bring the girls until I know how Laurie is - no earlier than Thursday evening. Our family will be there on and off, most of the weekend.

You are all the best - we could not do this without you!
