What's life like?

I am not exactly sure how to describe the state we are living in, but I do not like it. We are all living on edge; we have too little information on this brain tumor; for me, and I am sure Laurie, we each mentally juggle that it could be benign or deadly malignant. This is the first time in life where I have experienced real fear. And I am sure it is much worse for Laurie than me. Life is just moving very quickly. I do know that we trust that Almighty God will see us through this storm.

You need to grab on with both hands to the Lord and don't let go.

You may have missed the whole Chilean miner story this week with what has been going on with your own life, but there was an interesting quote by one of them that while he was in the mine, he sensed God and the devil fighting over Him, but He held God's hand and God won.

Hold on to all the truths you do know and recite them. God is in control. God loves you. God already knows the outcome. Life is bigger than the here and now, and the outcome is secure -- GOD WINS!

Your job right now is to do the best that you can in seeking quality help, which you are doing, and then leave the results to the Lord. The results are His responsibility and that should give you comfort, because you don't know what to do -- He does.

You do not know it, but you are being a shining light (Him) as you deal with this. Others will see Christ in you. I'm glad you have invited others to be along side. That is very important, so ask someone to sit with you at the doctors/hospital, not just sit with the kids.

Know that you are loved by many. Particularly by me! Love, Diana

Dear Frank and Laurie,

We shake with some measure of the fear you feel, we ache with some of the uncertainty that haunts you, and we are deeply saddened with this news and want you to know that we are with you in prayer daily.

Jesus said "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" John 16:33. Knowing He is there alongside is the greatest comfort there can be, and your friends and family are His agents sent to minister to you both.

It has been said that the surgery of life hurts and this is undeniable. However, God himself is our Wounded Surgeon, and He has felt every pain and every sorrow. (I have this written my Bible during my cancer surgery and do not recall where I saw it)

I also was comforted by these words from Psalm 121 as surgery approached.

"I will lift up my eyes to the hills -
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep...

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The Lord shall preserve your going out and your
coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore."

We love and continue in prayer for you all,

Ed and Chris
