I do not usually try looking for silver linings in all bad situations. I really do believe (and said so before) we are at war and things just happen as a reault of our fallen state and the ensuing battle.
But something good can arise from Laurie's illness; for me it is that I have fallen more in love with her. That may sound weird, but 25 years of marriage can make anyone get used to the status quo, and I confess part of my commitment to her had developed a bit like that. As we worked through her initial sick days and then surgery, it really struck me how much I needed her and us.
I stand resolutely firm against any evil plans to take advatage of our family during this time of her illness. Wwe are a house united (and that incloudes all of you!). We are not only ready, we stand firm in the name of God Almighty and pray for Laurie's healing.
