I want to say one thing about yesterday. I think I may have mentioned already that Nov 1st is Laurie's and my 24th anniversary. But what with all the excitement these past few weeks, some of you might forgive me for not having been on the ball, so to speak (others might not, and that's fine).
Still, there we were as a family, eating (thanks Yvonne for the creamy, cheesy enchilladas!) and joking about me having forgotting such an important day in the Livingston household. Then, out of the blue, our 13 year old quite nonchalently told Laurie and me SHE had not forgotten our anniversary, and - on her own - planned, budgeted and bought us a gift for our anniversary. A wonderful picture frame.
You should have seen the tears welling up. Any parents who has struggled in angst to teach their kids good from bad, right from wrong, etc... immediately knows when one of their kids *gets* something. This was one of those occasions; Laura showed us she *got* the family thing. SOOO proud.
